Background
Andrew was newly-diagnosed with Stage IV non-small cell lung cancer. As a never-smoker, this was quite unexpected. He was about to start his fight against this cancer, but a brain bleed event took Andrew's life even before treatment began. Lung cancer is the leading cancer killer of both men and women in the U.S. Although smoking is responsible for about 90% of lung cancer, radon is estimated to be the second-leading cause. We will never know for sure about the origin of Andrew's lung cancer, but he was exposed to radon at his house in Bow.
