Andrew Carr, Jr. was born October 19, 1973 to the union of the late
Andrew James Carr, Sr. and Mary Lee Smith Carr in New Orleans, Louisiana
Andrew, a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend,
passed away suddenly at his Baton Rouge, Louisiana residence on Friday, January 12,
2024 at the age of 50. Though he will be greatly missed, Andrew was called home to
be with with His Lord and Savior.
A longtime resident of the New Orleans and Baton Rouge areas, Andrew was vastly
known in those communities as a well loved and reliable friend and neighbor, who
was always willing to help others. He had a fondness for good food, especially New
Orleans cuisine and had formerly worked as a Sous Chef for many years in several
upscale French Quarter restaurants. Also, as an avid football fan, Andrew could
always be found on any given weekend bingeing on his homemade culinary
creations while watching a Saints football game. He was known as a "jokester" who
found humor in just about everything and never failed to make you laugh to tears.
Andrew is preceded in death by his father, the late Andrew James Carr, Sr.
Cherishing his memories forever are his loving daughters De'Andreia Carr and
Andranique Nero-Angus; his devoted and loving mother Mary Smith Carr; two
brothers, Eric Carr and Derick Carr; four sisters, Tracy Carr, Stacy Carr, Teresa
Carr and Lytreca Carr; and three grandchildren, Egypt Angus, Jakhari Angus and
Ajiah Angus.
He is also survived by his close nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and
friends.
