Andrew James Batchelor (Jr) left this world to return to his final resting place on September 23, 2021. He was 52 years old. Andy loved the Jets, Mets and everything related to nature, all of which didn’t hold a candle to the love he had for his family. He was born on Long Island, June 10, 1969, to Andrew and Peggy Batchelor. He was the first born and only son who became a big brother to his three sisters. Andy had a quiet nature, and everyone knew how strongly he felt about them. He was positive and upbeat and always had a kind word to say. Andy met the love of his life, Nicole, while working together at Kids-R-Us. They were married October 1991 and were blessed with Heather Ashley, Alison Kathleen, and Brian Andrew. Andy was the ultimate family man and the family bond that he and Nicole created was strong. Nothing could penetrate their core five. He cooked for his children, played dress up with his daughters, took his son to wrestling events, and attended all his sisters’ sporting events. He was their number one fan. He had quiet talks with his father and mother and took care of everyone around him. He doted on his wife Nicole and did little things to surprise her in their marriage of close to 30 years. Andy was a longtime employee for Fed-Ex for 22 years. He worked in Long Island and Albany and news of his passing has devastated employees around the state. Andy had such a love of the outdoors and five years ago he was lucky enough to fulfill his passion by moving his family to Glens Falls in the Adirondack Region. He was an avid hiker and photographer and could be found on the trails any weekend morning. He loved the Adirondacks and Montauk. He loved watching Sunday football, particularly the NY Jets, and he loved craft beer and barbecue. He loved being with his family and his favorite holiday was Thanksgiving. He was an amazing older brother to his three sisters, a loving uncle, beloved son, incredible husband, and father and a loyal friend. He was predeceased by his adoring grandmothers Margaret Harris and Rosemary Batchelor and father-in-law Russell Finnerty. He is survived by his loving wife, Nicole Batchelor, his beloved children Heather Batchelor (Joe Giametta), Alison Batchelor (Nikki Woodard) and Brian Batchelor. His adoring parents Andrew and Peggy Batchelor, mother-in-law, Janet Finnerty, sisters Missy Zamroz, Kathy Batchelor and Jennifer DeMatteo, brothers-in-law, Steven Zamroz and Daniel DeMatteo, and, his nieces and nephews Catherine, Thomas, Daniel, Donny and Samantha, as well as his aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. A wake will be held on Saturday, October 2nd at Wantagh Abbey. The family will accept visitors between 11:00AM and 3:00 PM
