Dear Andy,
As your aunt, I followed your steps over the years mostly at family holidays.
Andy was usually building something- lego stuff, model ships and finally a telescope to view the stars. Or, he was on an adventure - the Appalachian Trail, rock climbing, Europe, Japan or the beaches of NC or the Florida Keys.
Later, he captured the sky as a professional pilot, an esteemed flight instructor, and trained to fly both planes and helicopters. Always, with strong family, and Caroline by his side.
I miss you every day.
Rest in peace, dear nephew, friend.
With love,
Aunt Tante Ilze

I didn't know Andy well, but through my relationship with Caroline, I felt as if I did. The relationship they shared was truly magical. I'm so sorry for the loss of Andy, and for the grief that Caroline, Andy's parents, and sister are experiencing. I wish each of you peace and comfort in your memories as the days move on.

Dear Family
I had only known Andy for a short while as a flight instructor. I found him to be the most caring, kind and thoughtful person and really dedicated to his career and family. He left us too soon and left a huge hole in all the hearts of persons that knew him. My deepest condolences to his wife and family. We will remember him with good thoughts and try to live by his standards. Blessings to all who new him and to whose lives he touched.

Andy seemed unflappable and indestructible. His passing is a total shock. We are so very, very sorry for your loss.
