Andrea's obituary
Andrea Leigh Seifert left us unexpectedly and far too soon on Saturday, September 7, 2024. She passed away peacefully in her sleep, with her devoted husband, Richard Rumfola, by her side.
Born on October 4, 1958, in Vernon, NY, Andrea was a beacon of warmth and enthusiasm, sporting a unique personality and an adventurous spirit. After graduating from V.V.S. Central School in 1976, she embarked on a journey that took her from Rochester to Boston, where she formed lifelong friendships and welcomed her beloved son, John. Upon returning to New York, she pursued a degree at Monroe Community College, which led her to a rewarding 25-year accouting career at T.Y. Lin International in Rochester, following an earlier role at the National Warplane Museum in Geneseo.
But Andrea’s talents went well beyond the office. She was a gifted seamstress and crafter, known for her creativity and generosity. Her handmade creations, all made with love, were cherished gifts for family and friends and supported meaningful causes. Her biggest talent of all, however, was to get smiles and laughs out of anyone, no matter the circumstance.
Though her heart always had a soft spot for her hometown, Andrea truly found her home in Avon, where she lived for 36 years. Avon became her canvas, where she painted a life full of family, friendships, and unforgettable memories. Her vibrant spirit, quick wit, and artistic flair left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Andrea’s love for her family was boundless. She is survived by her husband, Richard, with whom she shared 32 wonderful years, having tied the knot on May 23, 2020. She is deeply missed by her son and daughter-in-law, John David Timmins and Samile Timmins, and her cherished grandson, Logan. She has also left an irreparable void in the hearts of her sisters, Constance of Corning, NY, and Rebecca of Vernon, NY; her stepchildren, Heather (Michael) Holmes and Heidi (Nikkia) Bermudez, and her grandchildren, Evelyn and Richard.
Andrea was predeceased by her siblings, Stephen Allan Seifert and Kathleen Marie Seifert, and her parents, Mary Ann and Grove LaVerne Seifert.
Her legacy of love, laughter, and creativity will forever remain in our hearts.
