How do you sum up a lifetime of memories and accomplishments in a few short paragraphs? You can’t, but here’s a few key points.
Andrea Peebles was a loving companion and wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend but most of all, a wonderful musician who loved Jesus Christ with all her heart.
Andy had a passionate love affair with ice cream, M&M’s, and chocolate. Her favorite movies were Seems Like Old Times with Kurt Russel and Goldie Hawn. And Sister Act with Whoopi Goldberg. Andy became an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time outdoors. She made the best pot roast and chocolate chip pancakes. She was very dedicated to her faith and wanted others to feel the same about God’s blessings and love. The Peebles house was-a home for everyone. Andy made certain that every one of their children's friends (Carla, Beth, Jeff) knew they were welcome and part of the family. Everyone alike adored Mom for her grace and kindness.
Andy was known for her talent and love of music and playing the guitar. 🎸When she picked up an acoustic guitar for the first time she immediately fell in love. Guitar was her expression and she was a self-taught musician. Andy lifted everyone up with her music and her voice. Her and her husband, Al would sing Christian songs late into the night at Christian get-togethers. They played at home and church together and even wrote music on hundreds of poster boards. Music was their passion. They touched so many lives with their gifts.
Andy also had a beautiful singing voice, which often was described as being perfect pitch; all of her songs harmonized to perfection.
We will always remember her cheerful attitude and bright smile. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Andy. She loved a quiet evening with friends/family and a glass of Pepsi in hand, watching Hallmark movies and petting her pup. She loved to travel and enjoyed exploring local places and parks and trails and found beauty in the spring wildflowers. Her favorite flowers were purple lilacs. Her pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met. She was a big sweetie with a healthy dose of spunk and wit.
One of Andy’s favorite things to do was to visit her sister, Linda Stump. It was a long drive so she always made it a day event. She loved inviting the family and going over to have cookouts in the summer and celebrate holidays. It was tradition that she would hide eggs all over the property for the kids to find on Easter.
Later in life, Mom preferred more of a quiet and private life with the exception of seeing close friends, her children, and grandchildren whenever she could. She loved nothing more than talking with us about our day, our lives, our stories. She was the keeper of our loose ends and kept us together.
However, the most important relationship in Mom’s life was with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Mom would want us to know that we should draw close to Jesus in the midst of our pain, and lean on Him to carry His message of grace, forgiveness, mercy and hope.
Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone who loved her so much. We will miss you always, Mom.
