Didi loved dressing up for church on the weekends and enjoying life with her family. She shared her love for family and love for cooking down to generations and generations. Many of her memories were in the kitchen with her grandchildren. Before her dementia, she enjoyed walking with her daughter in the morning, mastering the StairMaster, listening to Haitian folklore music, dancing with her family, participating in Shark Week, watching Wrestling, Boxing, and the Price is Right with Bob Barker. A pillar of hospitality and a force to be reckoned with, Didi overcame many trials and beat many odds that surprised the most experts of doctors throughout the latter years of her life. She received the name The Iron Lady
