Andrea's obituary
Andrea Eleanor Campbell, aged 84, passed away on April 26, 2024. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. Andrea was born on July 24, 1939 in New York, NY, to Malcolm Alan Campbell, Phd, and Inez Marie Heyman Campbell, their only child.
She grew up on her parents’ farm where they grew corn in Albany, Oregon. She graduated from then Albany Union High School in 1956. She married Terry Emmons but later divorced.
She went on to attend Reed College in Portland, Oregon, and later became an executive assistant and medical transcriptionist most recently at OHSU before retirement. Throughout her career, she was known for her administrative skills and was referred to as “a Cadillac in her industry.”
Andrea was a devoted member of several community support groups, including recovery programs and support groups she led for suicide survivors, elders and women in her community. Andrea was a strong member of Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous with the clean date of 12/5/1984. She sponsored numerous women over four decades.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and watching her favorite TV shows. In her free time, Andrea was a voracious reader and a published poet. She provided a loving home for a long line of beloved cats.
Andrea is survived by her daughter, Jane Leu Rekas, and by her devoted grandson, Cameron Marcel Stallings and granddaughter Sierra “CC” Loren Stallings. She was preceded in death by her son, Joshua Jalen Stallings and his father Ronald Jerome Stallings, and Jane’s father Felix Vital Leu.
