Andrea Meri Sandefur passed away on January 5, 2026, in Alabaster, Alabama. Born on November 17, 1983, Andrea lived a life marked by intelligence, strength, and an unwavering commitment to those she loved.
Andrea was a nurse by training and was deeply involved in the recovery community, embracing that work with openness and determination. Her sharp mind and generous spirit were matched by her loyalty; she stood firmly beside those she cared for and never hesitated to defend them. Above all else, Andrea was profoundly proud of her children. Her devotion to them shaped every part of her life and remained her greatest source of purpose and pride.
She is survived by her son, Andrew James Hicks; her daughter, Kayce Lynn Crispin; her sisters, Lauren Alexandra Sandefur and Allissa Rose Sandefur; and her parents, Christina Lynn Alpizar and James Philip Sandefur.
Andrea leaves behind a legacy of strength and transformation. Those who knew her were protected by her presence, challenged by her convictions, and changed by her love. Though her absence is deeply felt, the impact of her life continues to resonate among those who knew her.
