Anastacio “Ernest” Perez, age 68, of Houston, Texas, passed away on July 27, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.
Ernest was born on April 7, 1957, in Houston, Texas, to Narciso Perez and Aurora Torres. Known affectionately as “Ernest,” he lived a life filled with happiness and laughter, touching the lives of many through his kindness, generosity, and warm spirit.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Marianne Martinez Perez; his children, Michael Perez, Joshua Perez, Pierre Perez, Jonathan Perez, and Stephanie Perez; his stepsons, Martin A. Medina, Andrew Medina and his wife Amanda Medina, and Matthew Medina. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren: Joshua Dillon Perez, Gracie Perez, Zoe Hosler, Sara Hosler, Alaina Skye Medina, Thomas James Medina, Jacob Perez, Elizabeth Avina, and Helena Grace Martinez. Ernest leaves behind his siblings Isabel Perez, Maria I. Avina, Maria G. Avina, and brother Jose Avina, as well as numerous other family members and friends who loved him deeply.
He was preceded in death by his father, Narciso Perez, and his grandparents, Anastacio Perez and Fabiana Perez.
Ernest was widely respected for his exceptional craftsmanship, having dedicated over 30 years to his work as a welder and fitter. He loved spending time outdoors—fishing, barbecuing, and relaxing with family and friends while listening to his favorite music, which ranged from rock and roll and Motown to Tejano and country.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Three B’s on the Green at the Oakhurst Golf Club.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Ernest’s honor to assist with arrangements and medical expenses. A special and sincere thank you to the medical staff at Methodist Hospital in The Woodlands and Eclara Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
Ernest’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
