Amy's obituary

Amy Schwartz, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter passed away on March 30, 2023. Born on August 30, 1968, she devoted herself to her family and made an impact on the lives of everyone around her. Amy is survived by her daughter, Shelby Schwartz and her granddaughter Abigail Colaiuta; her step-father, Lawrence Nawrocki; and her siblings, Geraldine Gregory, David Knodel, Donald Knodel, and Patricia Edwards. She was predeceased by her son, Richard Knodel, and her mother, Rachel Nawrocki.

Throughout her life, Amy enjoyed a variety of music, including Garth Brooks, Ed Sheeran, Alan Jackson, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, and Dolly Parton. She had a love for comfort food, with chicken and dumplings being her favorite dish. Dr. Pepper and coffee were her go-to drinks to quench her thirst. Amy enjoyed reading the Twilight series and the Flowers in the Attic series, as well as watching TV shows like Chicago Fire, 911, ER, House, and anything on TLC. A fan of the Detroit Tigers, she also enjoyed playing card games, dice, backgammon, and Monopoly.

Amy liked spending time on recreational activities, such as watching her favorite shows, doing diamond art, and watching people make cakes on TikTok. She cared the most about her family, which she always put first. She is best described as loving, funny, outgoing, stubborn, and a little crazy, but her warmth and love are what her family and friends will cherish the most.

Her greatest accomplishments are her children, and her legacy is of kindness and love for everyone she touched. A memorial service to celebrate Amy's life will be held on June 3, 2023, at 12:00 PM at Clawson Troy Elks Lodge. Her memory will live on through her family and those who were fortunate enough to know her.
