Amy's obituary
Amy Petak, a woman of warmth and kindness, was born on April 18, 1955, and passed away on May 20, 2025. Amy was cherished by her family and friends for her sweet nature, fun-loving spirit, and a touch of sarcasm that always put a smile on people’s faces. Known for her directness, Amy believed in treating people the way you wish to be treated. Her empathy often led her to remind others that kindness should always be their path, for one never knows what battles someone else may be fighting.
Being a world traveler was one of Amy's most valued accomplishments, but her pride and joy were her family and her dedication to the restuarant service industry. She retired after more than 50 years of service, including an impressive tenure of 25 years at Brad's Restaurant. Amy's legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and a knack for finding beauty in every day — she was a firm believer in trusting your instincts.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Renae Nagy, brother Douglas Elhart, and sister-in-law Annie Chaskalson, her son-in-law Jeremy Nagy, grandson Tanner McManus, and granddaughter Kailie Nagy. They will always honor her memory. Amy's niece, Natalee Doenig, also holds her close in her heart. Amy was predeceased by her parents, Helene and Joseph Elhart. In the different chapters of her life, she shared fond moments with her ex-husband, Daniel Reynolds, who also survives her. Amy's absence is deeply felt by her entire family and numerous friends whose lives she touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates donations towards dedicating her favorite ocean-view park bench. Funds are being raised at https://everloved.com/life-of….
Amy's generosity and kindness were her greatest gifts, and through those, she continues to live on in the hearts of all those she knew. She will be greatly missed.
