Amy J Voegely's obituary
January 27, 1977 – December 9, 2020
On December 9th, our beautiful, beloved, and precious Amy grew her wings.
Amy was born at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado. As a little girl, her energy shined so bright, and had such an incredible love of animals especially cats. She graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1995 and was an excellent student. Amy went on to proudly serve our Country in the United States Air Force and was assigned to the Satellite Intelligence Division at Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Later in life, while still having 4 of her 6 children at home, she attended Platt College in Aurora, Colorado and earned her BS in nursing. She became a passionate OR nurse at Presbyterian St. Luke's Hospital in Denver where she assisted with many liver and kidney transplants and was highly respected and adored by her co-workers. Amy was extremely intelligent and creative and was a gifted artist with a talent for painting. She had an incredible sense of humor and infectious laugh that brought a smile to anyone who was lucky enough to be in her company. Everyone loved being around her and she was first to offer her help if anyone needed it. Amy was definitely a daddy’s girl, and he would frequently tell her that she was his favorite daughter. She would reply, “Daddy I’m your only daughter” which made them both laugh every time. She loved watching football, especially the Denver Broncos and being involved as a team mom on her son Kyler’s football teams. But her greatest passion, and what gave her the most joy in life, were her 6 children. She loved them all so incredibly much, more than anyone or anything.
Amy is survived by her parents, Rebecca Reece Porter (Mike), Robert and Diane Voegely; Grandmother, Ruby McIntyre; Children, Ambrea Killian Hannigan, Jayden Adam Grant, Kyler Elijah Parks, Zarah Rae Parks, Bailee Adaleena Vallejos, Raylynn Sofia Vallejos; Grandson, Kiernan Jeremy Joseph Hannigan; Brothers, Lance Adam Voegely (Rachel), Nathan Dominic Brach, Ryan Adam Voegely (Stephanie), as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was especially close to her niece, Emma (Jason). She is preceded in death by her brother Jason Jones, her grandfather Raymond Benjamin Voegely, her uncle Mark Christopher Reece, and her cousin Samuel Christopher Reece.
A Celebration of Life will be held sometime in 2021. Details will be posted once a date has been set.
