Amy's obituary

Amy Lynn Hans

September 29, 1958 – February 15, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, nana, and friend, Amy Lynn Hans, who left this world on February 15, 2025, at the age of 66. Amy was born on September 29, 1958, in Pennsylvania, and lived a life full of love, faith, and dedication to those around her.

Amy’s life was marked by her unwavering faith, her kindness, and her love for others. She had a nurturing spirit, especially for her four children: Donald Gilmer Williams Jr., Tiffany (Tim) Faith Ott, Patrick (Kisha) Neal Curtis, and Mary (Aviv) Catherine Hadad. She poured her heart into raising them with love and strength, teaching them the importance of integrity, love, and kindness.

Amy was a passionate teacher who found her calling in educating young children. She earned a master's degree from Murray State University, where she not only excelled academically but also fostered a deep love for learning. She devoted much of her career to teaching kindergarten, where her warmth and patience touched the hearts of countless students, shaping their lives for the better.

Her love for life extended beyond the classroom. Amy had a deep appreciation for art, painting, and crocheting, always seeking creative outlets to express herself. She was happiest in the outdoors, where she could connect with nature. Amy also enjoyed the quiet moments spent in her creative endeavors, where her gentle soul was always at peace.

She was a proud Kentuckian and was honored to be named a Kentucky Colonel, an acknowledgment of her impact and generosity. Her love for her family was boundless, and she found joy in the laughter of her grandchildren: Ellie Williams, William Ott, Kylie Ott, Annabelle Hadad, and the anticipation of her newest grandchild, Nicolas Curtis, who is due to arrive soon.

Amy’s kindness, strength, and deep love for her family and community will forever be remembered. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, a passion for teaching, and an enduring love for art and nature. Amy was truly loved by so many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of Amy’s life will be held in Nashville, Tennessee on April 5th, 2025 at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens Funeral Home & Cremation Center at 12:30pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of your choice in her honor. May she rest in peace, knowing the profound impact she had on this world.
