Amy, you were a hard nut to crack lol but beneath the tough exterior you were a sweetheart & ill never forget our fun foolish times @mondanero. After program, we went our separate ways & it was passing " whats up's?". I saw you every few weeks or so, passing by & was always too shy to thank you for the loving support you gave when I had a stroke in program. You've always been one of the "cool kids" in my mind but you were not too cool to help out a nerd like me when you saw me go weak while washing dishes, & you made sure I got help right away since in program so many times one can be seen as faking & if not for you, I may not be writing this! From the beginning symptoms, thru the hospitals, thru the cards & visiting, thru my return to program, you perservered the support whether i needed a gentle reminder to help me find my words, to help walking. & or a compassionate shoulder to vent feelings , you were there above & beyond the usual program buddy. You really helped me forget my difficulties keeping up & brought my stupid side out when we all dressed up with the worst :-) outfits of donated clothes & sang karaoke (...at. least when I wasnt covering for you to visit your sweetie outside)
Over the years since, I saw you pass by & I told myself, "Next time, Ill thank her." And then I saw your picture & a candle hung up at the clinic & I knew I was too late to tell you in person, so I tell you now, Amy. ...And to whomever reads this, NEVER PUT OFF THANKING SOMEONE WHO MADE AN IMPACT IN YOUR LIFE, SAY IT TODAY WHILE YOU HAVE THE CHANCE!
Vaya con Dios Amy

Amy was a friend for many years. Maybe it was misplaced but somehow I had faith she was going to pull through this and come out the other side. She was such a fighter, I was so shocked when she actually lost the battle. She hung on a long time and was so brave. I'm heartbroken for Alex and their kids, and for her family. Amy loved Alex fiercely and she often referred to him as her soulmate. How beautiful and ultimately tragic their live story has been. He promised to be with her till the end, and he was! Its comforting to know that Amy was surounded by her closest loved ones in her final days and hours. It also brings me some comfort to know she is in a place where there's no more pain, I know she was hurting for a long time. I wish I could have said goodbye. Amy made a lasting impression on her group of friends and she won't be forgotten. Her sense of humor, her tenacity, and her complete and total loyalty to the people she cared for are just some if the things I will always remember about Any. After being friends with Amy for almost 20 years, it's going to be some time before I get used to
the fact she's not with us anymore. I'm glad to have known her and to have called her a friend for so long. I hope you found peace miss Amy. You were loved and you will be missed.
