Amos's obituary
Amos Elzey, 86, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away on March 20, 2025. He was born on July 12, 1938, in Cumming to Ivan Elzey and Equilla Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Dean Elzey, sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Glenn Carden; brothers and sister- in-law, James Elzey, Donald Elzey, his daughter, Pam Elzey, and his son, Rickey Elzey.
Amos was a devoted member of Friendship Baptist Church, and was well known for his love of hunting and his talent for storytelling.
He is survived by his wife, Mae Avery Elzey; his son, Mickey Elzey and Greta Elzey; his daughter, Lynn Lewis; and his step-son, Joe Avery and Diane Avery. He is also survived by his brother, Jerry Elzey and Nell Elzey, and brother, Bruce and Therese Elzey, Velma Elzey, Sharon Elzey; numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; as well as his good friend and co-worker, Steve Banks.
Funeral services will be held at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, March 24, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Cumming, Georgia. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, March 23, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM and again on Monday from 12:00 noon until the time of service.
