Amelia's obituary

Amelia Rose Gobin, lovingly known as “Mel” by her family and close friends, was born on December 20, 1991 in Claremont, NH, and passed away unexpectedly at home on July 3, 2025, at the age of 33. She attended and graduated from Steven’s High School in 2013.

Mel lived with a free feisty spirit. She found joy in life’s simple treasures, one of her favorite thing to do was to pick strawberries and blackberries on her property and make jam from her harvest. Animals held a special place in her life; she cared for her beloved dogs Stogie and Lady, and took in strays. Once she even raised chickens (who she dressed up of course) and ran small egg business called “Red’s Little Hens”. “Red” was another one of her nicknames.

Mel had a gift for makeup artistry and loved helping others feel beautiful and confident. She proudly did make up for both of her sisters’ weddings.

She was also patriotic at heart, with a deep love for her country. Her favorite holiday being the Fourth of July, reflected her joy for celebration, fireworks, and family.

Her lively spirit was matched by her resilience, proven by surviving a devastating car accident in 2012 that broke her spine and several bones.

She leaves behind countless cherished memories. Among her sisters, a favorite memory is a special afternoon shared with their mother before her passing, when they spent time together getting their hair and nails done- a moment of togetherness they will always hold close.

Amelia is survived by her father, David Gobin; her sisters Meredith (Joe) Goewey and Olivia (Josh) Williams; her beloved nephews, Reuben and Archer Williams; her uncles and aunts, Benny and Patty Fluette, Don and Joy Gobin, and Manny and Clara Summares; her cousins Greg (fiancé Francesca) Gobin, Elisabeth Gobin, Raquel Fluette (sons Rory and Deagan), Garrett Fluette, David Summares, and Jonas Summares along with their families; and her respected former husband, Mike Stanfill. She also leaves behind many dear friends and family friends who loved her deeply.

She is preceded in death by her precious mother Bonnie Gobin, and her grandparents Harold and Armene Gobin, and Bernie and Barbara Fluette.

A Celebration of Life will be held on February 14, 2026. Details will be shared through the Celebration of Life Facebook Event, where attendees are invited to mark themselves as “going” to receive updates as plans are finalized.
