Amelia's obituary
Amelia Dee Riley Barrentine, age 80, formerly of Fort Worth, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, peacefully, at her home in Chillicothe, Ohio on June 22, 2024 after a brief battle with Cancer.
She was born on August 30, 1943 in Springfield, Illinois to Madeline Marian Komistik (Comstock) and Delbert Eugene Riley.
She is survived by her children, daugther Frankie Dee (Buzz) Perri, of Chillicothe, Patrick J (Loretta) Bernal-Terry, of Burleson, Texas and daughter Krystl M.L. Gutierrez of Fort Worth, Texas. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Michael (Michelle) Perri, Stefan C. Perri, Patricia Richardson, Patrick J. Terry, II, Tara Garza, Kyle Terry-Stowe, Rene Gutierrez, Israel Galvan, Mercedes and Cruz Castillo, Adrian Torres, Rey Escalera and Elijah Salazar, and great grandchildren Cesar and Angelina Ochoa, Aiden and Ava Stowe, and Roman Perri.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Patrick E. Riley her niece, Raven I. Martinez and her grandson, Pedro
Amelia was a retired Registered Nurse having earned her degree in 1980 from Hocking Technical College in Nelsonville, Ohio. She earned a national certificate having passed her Boards with a score high enough it allowed her to work anywhere in the country without having to take testing in the state in which she chose to reside. Most of her career was spent working in Texas, with her last job working in her dream position of home health. An avid crocheter and knitter, she would run her own business , for a time, called Dee's to Please, creating custom afghans and blankets for her clients. She loved to laugh and tell jokes so much so that she would participate in a local club's open mic night on a regular basis.
Prior to her move to Chillicothe, Amelia was a member of Word of Life Church. in Fort Worth, Texas. She attended Real Joy Community Church in Chillicothe when possible.
Per her wishes there will be no funeral service. A private family ceremony will be held at a later date.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staffs at Adena, Riverside Methodist and Hopeton Village for their part in helping Amelia with her battle.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in her name.
