Pat's obituary

Amedeo Pasquale "Pat" Corona, 95, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026, in Abilene, Texas, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on January 6, 1931, to Florence and Amedeo Pasquale Corona, Pat spent the greater part of his life in Hyattsville, Maryland, where he became a beloved fixture in his community. A proud Navy veteran and longtime member of the Knights of Columbus, he was known throughout his life for his warmth, integrity, and gift for connecting with people.

Back in the day, Pat was a top car salesman with a wall full of plaques to prove it — but more than that, he was a people person who made a lot of friends along the way. Later in life, he found his true calling playing Santa Claus. For more than 40 years, he brought the spirit of Christmas to life for countless children and families, lending his talents to local events, his church, and the Carolina Opry Theater. He loved it, and he really loved seeing kids light up.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Florence and Amedeo Pasquale Corona; his beloved brothers, Rudolph and Joseph Corona; and his former wife, Gladys Corona.

Pat is survived by his four children, John Corona (Stacey), Larry Bell, Marcia Oliver (Steve) and Laleña Lancaster (John) ; six grandchildren, Justin Lancaster, Brooke Bell, Lauren Bell, Ashley Kennedy (Eric), Amedeo "Nick" Corona IV, and Zachary Corona (Aubrey); three great-grandchildren, Vivian Kennedy, Scarlett Patetta, and Brody Bell; and a wide circle of cherished family and friends.

He lived a long life and touched a lot of people. He will be missed — remembered as a man of warmth, generosity, and enduring spirit, a true embodiment of the joy he so freely gave to others.
