Background
The Cuban Maristas school was a Catholic school in Cuba attended by my dad, Amaro Taibo. Students alumni of the school who escaped Cuba as part of Operation Pedro Pan in the early 1960s formed this nonprofit to benefit Cuban American children by awarding them with scholarships for college. My dad contributed annually to this nonprofit right up until his last year on this Earth. We believe he would have been delighted to have donations sent to this nonprofit in lieu of flowers.
