Amanda's obituary
Amanda Marie Shaffalo
(1987-2025)
It is with great sorrow, but an even greater expectation of an everlasting life with the Lord that we announce the passing of our beloved Amanda. Amanda Marie Shaffalo departed this earth unexpectedly on February 23rd in her sleep, at the age of 37 in Greensburg, PA.
Amanda was born on May 15, 1987, in Newport News, VA, but lived her childhood and young adult years in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Florida where she graduated from Lakewood Ranch High School in 2005.
Amanda lived life with zeal, never considering the meaning of ‘shy’ and rarely failing at being the self-designated icebreaker. It was obvious from an early age that she could command a room, and she played the oldest sibling to perfection. Born a natural performer, she would break out in song anytime and anywhere, exhibiting personality and energy that were unmatched. Amanda was the epitome of a ‘carefree spirit’ and never allowed a dull moment an opportunity to creep into her world. It was her desire that all share in that same type of spirit.
Amanda considered family and friends a focal point of her everyday life. She was always available to provide her unique brand of love and support, and she relished quality time spent with all. Upon becoming the mother of a beautiful baby boy, she went to great lengths as a domestic educator to expose her son to all that was available to bring the beauty of the world to life. Her abilities as a born nurturer became all the more evident and it was extremely obvious that her cup was full of love and happiness when you saw her interact with her son, Camden. The effects of her efforts as a mother will undoubtedly be carried forward as legacy and as an ongoing extension of her for years to come.
Most importantly, Amanda had recently started a consistent faith journey of meaningful prayer and daily journaling in pursuit of a relationship with her Creator. She was eager to realize purpose and develop a deeper understanding of the Word of God.
She is survived by her son, Camden; significant other, Chad Kenderdine; father, Ron; mother, Amy Moylan; sisters, Megan and Rachel; and brother, Danny. She is also survived by a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, stepparents, and stepsiblings.
A celebration of Amanda’s life will take place at Heather Lund Pavilion, 247 Tollgate Hill in Greensburg, Pa on Saturday, May 17, 2025, beginning at 2:00PM. Wearing springtime attire would most reflect her personality. We ask that you remember her for what makes you smile and by making an additional contribution to your place of worship in honor of her.
Amanda…We miss you, adore you, and thank you for marking a place in our heart.
