Amanda's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Amanda Ross, born on October 5, 1979, who left us on February 10, 2023. Amanda was a cherished wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, known for her outgoing, courteous, friendly, caring, and happy personality. Her everlasting smile and zest for life will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
Amanda is survived by her loving husband, Jason Ross; her son, Hunter Cole; her daughter, Jameson Ross; her father, Keith Granger; her mother, Peggy Granger; sister, Jennifer Guidry; and her aunt Mary-Jo Horton. Her family and friends will hold her memory close to their hearts, cherishing the lessons she shared of always smiling and making the most of every moment.
Among Amanda's greatest accomplishments, she courageously fought and survived leukemia, and later dedicated her life to helping others as a worker at a cancer center. Her love for her children, family, pets, and making every minute count stands as a testament to her beautiful spirit and a lasting legacy.
Amanda had a successful bi-lateral lung transplant on 8/20/22 to relieve her lung scarring and breathing ailments. She was recovering well at first from the transplant procedure. However, Amanda started developing heart and kidney complications that her medical team tried for months to help her overcome. Amanda fought hard, and had support by her side the entire way by her family and healthcare team. In the end Amanda’s will couldn’t keep up with her physical condition. However, she still remains in all of us that she touched in her life, and we will forever hold that spirit in our hearts!
A Memorial Service for Amanda will be held on June 10, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Providence United Methodist Church 2023 Providence Rd Charlotte, NC 28211. The family will receive friends in the atrium following the service. All are welcome, and Amanda would want everyone to dress in bright cheerful casual attire for her Memorial Service.
Amanda's last wish was for us to all have A Celebration of Life in her honor. This request will take place on June 11, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Olde Mecklenburg Brewery 4150 Yancey Rd. Charlotte, NC 28217 in the Grosse Festhalle room at the brewery. Space is limited and we can also use their outside Biergarten area.
