Amador's obituary

In loving memory of Amador Garcia, of Pacifica, CA, who passed away on August 2, 2025, at the age of 94. He touched the lives of many and will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Amador was born in the coastal city of Vigo, Spain, to Amador Garcia and Antonia Fuentes Garcia. It was there, amid the sun-drenched shores of Galicia, that he developed a lifelong appreciation for the sun, the written word, and the game of soccer. From 1953 to 1955 he was a field artillery operator in the Spanish Army, stationed in Tetuán, Morocco.

In 1963, with courage and aspirations for a new future, he made the journey to the United States. Just two years later, in 1965, he met the love of his life, Tere, in San Francisco. They married in 1967 and built a life full of love, laughter, and family.

Amador earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from San Francisco State University and later forged his own path as a successful self-employed entrepreneur. He was an active member of the Unión Española de California for over 50 years.

His proudest titles were those of husband, father, and grandpa. He was a devoted and loving husband, a proud father to Amador Jr. and Teresa, and a cherished grandfather to Ryan and Logan. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart. His family was his greatest joy, and he lived each day with unwavering dedication to their happiness and well-being.

Known for his strong character, solid work ethic, quiet wisdom, and warm smile, Amador was an avid reader who found joy with a good book in hand, a soccer match on the television, and the sun shining on his face. He lived with deep integrity, valuing kindness, perseverance, and love above all else. These values guided him every day and left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother, Roberto.

Amador’s legacy is one of unwavering devotion—to his family, his heritage, and the life he built with integrity and grace.

You are now at peace, but you will live on forever in our hearts.

We love you so much. Rest in peace.
