Amado's obituary
Amado Flores Jr, age 67 passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024. He was born March 28, 1957 in Liberal, KS to Amado Flores and Betty Lou Flores. He was a devoted husband to Marsha Flores for 43 years and a loving father to Mario, Montana and Mitchell.
Amado, or better known as Mel to most people was known for being a hardworking man and a dedicated friend to any person, he crossed paths with. He met his wife Marsha in 1977 and married in 1981, if you saw one, you saw the other, they were connected at the hip and created a beautiful life and a big family. One of his favorite titles, was "Papa" and to the rest of the family "Butch." Despite his non-stop work ethic, his family and friends were most important to him.
Though Amado may not have liked being the center of attention, he deserves to have his long years of love to his friends, family, and wife honored. He was a man of integrity, kindness, and generosity. He left a long-lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He was the man in the brimmed sun hat, always laughing and enjoying the moment.
Amado is survived by his wife, Marsha Flores of Rose Hill, KS; sons, Mario (Kim) Flores of Rose Hill, KS; Montana (Ingrid) of Shorewood, WI; and Mitchell (Jordan) Flores of Derby, KS; Grandchildren, Anessa, Keirra, Lianna, Mikkah, Karson, Brynlee, Cash, Kulton, and Kinzley; Siblings, Larry, Richard, Sue (Harold), Mary Jo (Bob), Juanita, Jim, Pam, Mike and Trina. His 47 nieces and nephews, as well as many dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Charlie, and sister Karen.
A celebration of life for Amado will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 1:00-5:00 pm at Bob and Mary Jo Roberts house, at 2036 SW 220th St, Douglass, KS 67039. This will be an outdoor event.
