Am's obituary
He was born in Nang Gu, Chau Doc, Southern Vietnam in 1930. He is the oldest brother in the family of 8 siblings. He joined the Army after finishing high school and continued his education during serving. He served 25 years in the Tong-Tham-Muu (Headquarter) unit / Saigon until the loss of the government to communism in 1975. He went to the communist prison in northern Vietnam for nearly 7 years. This POW took a large token to his health but did not impact his sharp mind and strong wills.
He was a well-educated man and very persistent to his goals. He kept up with his principles, law abiding, do no wrongs, do not tell lies, and harm nobody. He was a family man in any aspects which his wife appreciated as a heaven /God blessing. He was a righteous brother that his siblings obeyed without a doubt.
I am speaking about him in a daughter's perspective which reflecting only one of his many good sides. His fellow soldiers and long term friends would recognize his truthfulness and greatness in their views. I just know that there were still in contact or get together while he was alive. Then in the recent years, he made new friends with the in house support teams. In the last year of his life he found a supporter who cheered him off tremendously. Only these friends could share to us how great he was in friendship.
To his grandchildren he was a smart grandpa, a baby sitter, a care giver, a tutor, a driver to school-practice-doctor, and a listener. He called, yes, he called each of us and demanded the follow up of the kids' achievement.
Until the time he passed away he was always sharp and a best fighter to his deteriorate conditions. Weak and/or frail, afraid were not in his dictionary. He acted and moved as he had no physical limitations…
His present was strong, his death is stronger in the loved ones’ minds. Live Strong, Bold, and Spread Love…he was a solid example for us to follow.
