Alycia (Niki)'s obituary
Alycia Nicole Gourley (Dold) (October 4, 1975 - November 27, 2023) known as Niki to all who knew and loved her passed away peacefully surrounded by family.
Niki is survived by her loving husband, John Gourley, her son, Jonathan Blevins (Megan) and her daughters, Nina and Abi Gourley. She was momma to many others including PJ Gourley, Shawn O’Hara and Sammi O’Hara. She was the adored Nana to Teagan and Hayden O’Hara. Her father, Gene Dold (Robyn) and her sisters, Michelle Tranchita-Dold, Melanie Dold and Rebecca (Dani) Graham-Line (James) will forever keep her in their hearts. Niki also was a special Auntie for Tyler and Jack Tranchita and super special Aunt to Olivia Haider. She was a favorite cousin for Cheri Haider-Williams (Brian) and Cory Williams. Finally, Niki was adored by way more family and friends than can be listed.
Niki was preceded in death by her Mom, Terri Dold, her birth father, Ron Davis, her sweet sister, Melissa Dold, Aunt Gail, Uncle Pete, Aunt Rose, Uncle Mickey, Grandma and Grandfather Dold and her loving Gram and Gramps, June and Walter Las.
Niki always marched to the beat of her own drum. From early on, Niki was up for whatever fun or adventure life could bring her. She was everyone’s go to when looking for a partner in crime. If someone had a sneaky plan, like toilet papering or meeting up with boys at 3am in Middle School, Niki was the first to jump in!
She was a pure Momma bear always looking for people to care for. From giving her bus ticket to another kid, to giving away an inheritance, to sharing her life with strangers (soon to be friends) at AA, Niki without hesitation would give her last dollar, the shirt off her back and her love to others. She was an example of how to be a giver in the world and how to set boundaries. Niki was an extraordinary, wise and wise-ass woman.
As most people though, our starts in life can have some bumps and Niki sure found as many bumps as she could- in her effort to join the fun and adventure. Some of her greatest lessons in life were from these bumps and scrapes. She was so real and honest about everything and with everyone. Her stumbles in life made her an empathetic, nonjudgmental and giving person.
If only we could all love like Niki. Could you even imagine the world we’d live in, the people we would meet and the adventures we would take?
We love you Niki and will hold you in our hearts forever. Hoping your strength and love will make us all a bit better as we go through life. Enjoy the endless beach with powdered sugar sand, small waves and a light breeze. We’ll see you at the beach!
