Alvin Rhods, 87, of Madison, AL, left us, surrounded by his friends and family on December 05, 2022 after a long illness.

Alvin was predeceased by his parents, Everett Lloyd Rhods and Clarice Rhods, and his wife of 40 years Martha Boggs Rhods. He is survived by his long time companion, Reba Jacobs who he cared greatly about. Sons, Steven Rhods ( Mickey), Brian Rhods (Tina) and daughter, Lorna Murphy,  and as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren .

Alvin served his country in the United States Navy.  After which he obtained a degree in electronic engineering and used that degree to work in various fields of the defense and aerospace in the Department of Defense which culminated in his retirement from NASA in Huntsville Alabama. 

Al was very proud of his contributions to various projects at NASA which included the Shuttle programs and the Hubble Telescope. 

His passions included ballroom dancing, golf, theater and genealogy from which he published three books on the history of the Rhoads family. 

He will be missed by all who knew him. 

Services will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at Legacy Chapel, 16 Hughes Rd. Madison Al. Graveside is to follow at Huntsville Memorial Gardens, 6810 University Dr, Huntsville Al.
