Alvin's obituary
Alvin Charles Rementer, age 80, passed away peacefully in the early hours of October 3, 2025, in Twentynine Palms, California.
Born on October 29, 1944, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Alvin was the son of Anna M. Umlauf (Kulik) and John W. Rementer Sr. He was drafted into service during the Vietnam War, and upon discharge, he returned home determined to forge his own path—far from the Army, but close to the people he loved.
Alvin was a master welder, unmatched in skill and precision. No one could out weld that man. But beyond his craft, he was known for his stubborn streak, his hardheaded honesty, and his unwavering commitment to his family. He never admitted he was wrong, but he always made sure to be the man his loved ones could count on. Whether it was loaning someone money lol, offering a lecture (or three), or quietly stepping in when things got tough, Alvin showed up. Every time.
He took pride in caring for his ex-wife, Deborah Rementer, and remained a steady presence in the lives of his children: Brittaney Rementer, Tyler Rementer, Christina Heller, Tricia Rementer, and Brian Rementer. He was an amazing father in law to Sabrina D’Arroyo. He was a devoted grandfather to Audrey Rementer, Parker Rementer, Jenna Heller, Jessica Rementer, Krisalynn Mazzochi, Brandon Heller, Matthew Heller, and Bradley Rementer. He also leaves behind his great grandchildren Kaylyn, Addison, and Leland. He was also a beloved brother to Stephanie Flanders. He also leaves behind his niece Samantha Reinish and his ex-father-in-law Franklin Terrey, all of whom carry his memory with love and gratitude.
Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, Anna and John Sr.; his brother, John W. Rementer; and his ex-mother-in-law, Lana J. Terrey (Lilley).
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 3:00 PM Pacific / 6:00 PM Eastern at Apostolic Lighthouse Assembly, 6450 Star Dune Ave., Twentynine Palms, CA 92277. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be streamed live on Facebook.
Alvin was the best man many of us ever met. His legacy lives on in the strength, loyalty, and love he gave so freely.
