We regretfully announce the passing of Alta Mae Decker of Centralia, Missouri on April 6, 2022. She was surrounded by her family and passed away peacefully. Alta was one of the kindest and fairest women and our family was blessed to have her. She was born as Alta Mae Gray in Joplin, Missouri on February 20, 1953. After graduating, she went on to Syracuse, NY to pursue a career as a Data Entry Specialist. In 1973 she married Gary Decker of Penn Yan, New York and together they went on to have 2 children, Christy Decker and Glen Decker. Alta was a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother who gave her all to her family. She volunteered and baked for many organizations and events during her life as a military wife in different countries and cultures including Guam, Japan and Spain. Alta is predeceased by her parents, Garfield Gray and Violet McKibben, and survived by her siblings; Chester Gray, Mike Gray, Penny Gray, Lora Gray and Julie Eby. Alta is also survived by her husband Gary Decker and children Christy Decker and Glen Decker, as well as her grandchildren, Glen Decker, Jordan Decker, Jason Borders and George Decker. Her wishes were for cremation of her ashes to be spread in the Redwood Forest of Northern California.
