Alma's obituary
Alma Hannice Wakefield A Friend and Mom to All
Alma Hannice Wakefield, 88, passed away peacefully March 15, 2022 at Centennial Place, Millbrook, Ontario. Beloved mother of Karen (Mark Liddell), Simon, and Amanda (Ross Mowat); cherished Nanny of Chelsi Liddell. Sorely missed by brother John, sister Pauline, and nieces and nephews in England.
Friend to everyone lucky enough to cross her path, and an honorary “second” Mom to many, Alma brought an uncanny sense of British humour, and unique perspective to the world. “Keep your pecker up dahlings”.
A crossword and trivia fanatic, Alma completed the Toronto Star crossword by 6am everyday, ready to compare with any rivals on the street. Her love for theatrics and incredible talent for dressmaking were exhibited at her epic Halloween parties. Alma showed her love through food. An Incredible cook and baker, she was well known for her rum cakes at Christmas.
Artistically trained in England, her talents were broad and varied, with a career in graphic design spanning over 60 years at Bell Canada, Eaton’s catalogue, and Sears catalogue.
Please join Alma’s family and friends for an afternoon of laughter and memories at Cedar Ridge Creative Centre, 225 Confederation Dr, Scarborough, on April 30th, 1-4pm, ceremony at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations may be made in Alma Wakefield’s name to https://alzheimer.ca/en/take-…
