In Loving Memory of Allison Ursula Thomas
Allison Ursula Thomas, a beacon of warmth and wisdom, was born on April 11, 1974, in the welcoming embrace of Wausau, Wisconsin. On November 10, 2023, at 10:47 PM, surrounded by the love of her family, she peacefully departed this world at Abbott Northwestern Hospital.
Allison is survived by her loving sons Lars (22), Jordan (12), and her precious daughter Ursula (7). Her devoted brother, Brian, remains a pillar of support during this challenging time. Allison was preceded in death by her father, William, her mother, Ruth, and her partner, Corey Lieving.
A proud alumna of Evanston Township High School, Allison graduated in 1992 and went on to earn a degree in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin Madison in 1997. For 22 years, she served as a dedicated library specialist in the Minneapolis Public Schools, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of her colleagues and students.
Allison's passion for literature, especially children's books, was evident in her personal and professional pursuits. Her expansive knowledge and infectious love for teaching enriched the lives of countless students. Outside the classroom, she found solace in the beauty of the outdoors, with a special fondness for the vibrant hues of autumn.
However, above all, Allison's greatest joy and fulfillment came from being a devoted mother. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering love created a home filled with warmth and laughter, leaving an enduring legacy in the hearts of her children.
A public remembrance, a celebration of Allison's remarkable life, will be held at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Center in Evanston, Illinois, on Saturday, November 25th, 2023.
