Allison's obituary
Allison May Josephson, a devoted wife and partner, of Marcus Josephson passed away on April 29th, 2026, at the age of 50 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Allison grew up in Mobile, Alabama, and was an Alabama girl through and through. She carried that Southern spirit with her always—warm, strong, and full of heart.
Allison was the beloved wife of Marcus Josephson, with whom she shared deep and enduring love. Marcus cared for Allison with unwavering devotion throughout her illness, a reflection of the strength of their bond.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellen and Richard May, and is survived by her brother, Alec May, and sister-in-law, Tami May; her cherished niece and nephew, Brooke and Corbin May; cousins, Kim and Karen, her other sister-in-law, Kirsten Taylor; and her loving parents-in-law, Donna and Joe (George) Josephson, who loved her as their own.
She was a dedicated professional with the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission, a nonprofit organization committed to advancing the quality and standardization of diagnostic imaging and therapeutic interventional procedures. “Improving health care through accreditation”.
Allison also gave her time as a volunteer with Atlanta Lab Rescue, reflecting her deep love for animals. It was through this passion that she and Marcus welcomed their beloved dogs, Red and Penny, into their lives.
Outside of her work and service, Allison had a true passion for scuba diving. Marked by the starfish tattoo on her arm, she was happiest in the water—often upside down, exploring every nook and cranny in search of octopus and hidden sea life. That adventurous spirit reflected how she lived: curious, fearless, and full of wonder.
She will be remembered for her strength, grace, and the love she gave so freely to those around her. Those who knew Allison can take comfort in imagining her reunion with her beloved dogs, Red and Penny, who passed before her and are surely waiting to greet her with wagging tails.
Allison will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
