Allison's obituary
Allison Evelyn Johnson, 59, of Houston, Texas, passed away surrounded by the same love she spent her life giving to everyone around her. Born in Houston, she lived her years with a bright, bubbling spirit that never dimmed. She had a gift for connection — the kind of woman who never met a stranger and made every room feel lighter just by walking into it. You couldn’t meet Allison without walking away a little better than you were before.
She lived life the way music feels — joyful, full of rhythm, always ready for the next reason to dance. Celebrations weren’t just occasions to her; they were reminders that life was meant to be embraced with open arms.
Allison lived her faith through action. Grounded in her Christian belief and comforted by her favorite scripture, Psalm 91, she carried a quiet strength and a generous spirit. She was a giver in every sense — donating clothes she personally shipped to Africa, showing up for charity work, and helping anyone who needed her. After hearing her granddaughter chant, “Keep going girl, keep going,” she made it her own mantra and lived by it.
She is survived by her children: Francheska Johnson, Kendrick Johnson, and Vasherie Brown; her beloved mother, Daniel Johnson; and her grandchildren: Aeriona Runnels, Nevaeh Johnson, Lauvie Walker, Maverick Johnson, and Journey McCowan. She also leaves her siblings, Antoinette Antwine and Winfred Johnson; her nieces and nephews — Pateace Antwine, Tramill Lopez, Santresa White, LeeQuinton Anderson Sr., Winfred Johnson Jr., and Ashley Johnson — along with many great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, and countless friends who became family.
Allison will be remembered for the way she made people feel — seen, cared for, uplifted, and loved. Her spirit was pure generosity, pure light. She was a woman who walked into a room and reminded you that goodness still exists. Everyone loved her because she loved without limit.
Her light doesn’t dim with her passing. It simply settles into all of us who were lucky enough to stand in its glow.
