Allison's obituary
Allison Elizabeth Holtzman (Hagen), 52, of Paso Robles, California, passed away on February 23, 2026.
Born in Lansing, Michigan, Allison built a life defined by strength, resilience, humor, and an unwavering love for her family. She was someone who met life head-on with courage, determination, and a spirit that made those around her feel instantly at ease.
Allison began her career as a firefighter with CDF (now Cal Fire), a role she loved deeply and one that reflected her fearless and driven nature. She went on to build a meaningful career as a nurse, including her time at Posada Surgery Center in Templeton, California with a team that she simply adored. Nursing became her true calling, and she brought compassion, strength, and genuine care to every patient she encountered. She took immense pride in her work and the impact she made.
Above all else, Allison was most proud of her children and the life she created. She was a loving and devoted wife to her husband, Stephen Holtzman, and a deeply cherished mother to Drew, Jack, Kelsey, and Jillian. She is also survived by her parents, Jim and Helen Hagen, and sisters, Nicole Hagen and Jenny Transue.
To know Allison was to love her. She was courageous, strong, hilarious, and endlessly kind. People were drawn to her wit, her humor, and her ability to show up, fully and selflessly, for the people she loved. She had a gift for giving lifting others up and making people feel human, and making even the hardest moments feel lighter.
To her friends and family, she was known for her goofy voices, her many silly sayings, and her ability to make people laugh when they needed it most. Whether she was coaching soccer for her daughters' many soccer teams, spending time with friends and family, or simply being present for those around her, Allison brought warmth and joy into every space she entered.
She loved the simple, happy moments in life — lounging by the pool with a margarita in hand and her 4000-song playlist blasting, head-banging at rock concerts with the people she loved, and yes, a good Taco Bell bean and cheese burrito. These were the moments that made up a life well lived, full of laughter, connection, and love.
Allison’s presence was a steady, comforting force, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the strength of her family, the lives she touched, and the love and laughter she gave so freely.
A celebration of Allison’s life will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Cass Winery Barrel Room in Paso Robles, California. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor the incredible life she lived.
