Just yesterday, I was sharing with some of our church family about how Allen made his own version of “Egg McMuffins” for us when we were visiting from California—45 years ago! He even had a special can he used as a “shape cutter” to make the eggs and ham perfectly round, just like McDonald’s. We were so impressed!

Today, I’m remembering Allen with love on his first birthday in heaven.

Mary and Monica my prayers are with you both as you grieve the passing of Allen.  He was a wonderful man of God and loved you both very much.  I met Allen many years ago and saw his passion for the Lord when he was still a teenager.  That passion was evident until the day he met Jesus face-to-face.  It's at times like this we can take hope in the resurrection.  We all will be together in heaven at some point in the future!

Mr. Clayton was the best Bible quiz coach! He helped instill a life-long love of scripture in me. His gentleness mixed with funny sense of humor was the perfect combination for his work with kids. I am deeply sorry for your loss.
Allen and I had so many wonderful conversations during our time at UTD, and he always spoke in glowing terms of Mary and Monica. My prayers are with you in this loss, and I am grateful for the memories I have of working with him.

I worked with Allen for many years at UTD. He was always kind and willing to help anyone that needed help. He will be missed a lot. RIP Allen, you were truly one of a kind.
Allen was one of those friends who come up beside you to encourage your kids, generous with his time and always kind. He was a rare intellect, in that he tolerated my ‘out there’ theology  questions without condescension but gave a thoughtful, balanced opinion. Plus, he was fun! Well done, dear friend! We are sorrowing with you, Mary and Monica, with much love. Until we meet again!
The absolute best! As intellectual as he was, his heart was bigger than his big brain. Such a funny, smart, witty and kind human being. The one verse that described our friendship is Proverbs 27:17…iron sharpens iron. I was more like copper when I met him years ago, but hanging out with him turned me into iron. He will be missed!
