Allan's obituary
Allan Wayne Near Born October 9th 1957 Niagara Falls Ontario. Died July 17th 2024 Thousand Palms California. His family moved to Zephyrhills Florida when he was 13 years old. While attending school he worked for Zephyr Egg. At 17 or 18 years old he decided to join some friends in Texas to work on a barge. In August 1976, he moved to California where he earned his Contractor license. Later he made his profession in real estate. He loved this work and excelled in this eventually being able to retire at a young age. As a child he loved to go camping and to our grandparents cottages. He and his brother Chuck would go to golf courses and find golf balls and sell them to the golfers. After moving to California, he enjoyed fishing trips, including to Florida, California, and Mexico. He went to Alaska on a hunting trip. He loved taking family and friends from his desert home up the mountain. Riding ATVs in the snow. Just an hour away. He also took his girlfriend and her parents to the attractions around Niagara Falls where they also spent time with our Aunt Betty. He lived his life, loving to fish, hunt, pan for gold, and travel. He also enjoyed cooking especially for family and friends. He cooked for all occasions. American, seafood Mexican and holiday feasts. Occasionally he would have to ask if steaks were grilled to their request due to his being color blind, but he seemed to have timing to a perfection. He was very adventurous and loved his California life. He is very loved and will be deeply missed.
