FOSTER - Allan John, 77, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2016 following a long battle with a terminal illness. Allan was born on July 18, 1939 in Vancouver, British Columbia. He relocated to Toronto, Ontario where his family resided in Rosedale. Allan owned and operated his own business. He took pride in operating it and relished the good friends that he made during his time in business. Allan had a passion for sports and participated actively in his community, coaching youth hockey and lacrosse teams. He will forever be remembered for the sacrifices that he made for his family. In the final years of his life, he volunteered with a local hospital to participate in human trials for experimental drug treatments for the illness which eventually took his life. It was his hope that by doing so, that his children and mankind would be spared the suffering attendant with terminal hereditary illness. He is survived by his spouse, Karen Horne and his children John Foster (Ako), Tracey Foster, Guy Foster, and Joseph Foster. He is survived by his grandchildren: Malan, Cato, Jordan, Jenna, Connor, and Samantha. He was predeceased by his former spouse, Teresa Foster and his daughter, Christine Anne Penney. May he rest in peace. A private cremation was held at Park Lawn Crematorium on December 1, 2016.
