Alison's obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, Alison (Booth) Hassler, who passed away on December 16, 2023 at the age of 63 following a sudden illness.
Alison was born on January 12, 1960 in Canton, Ohio to Alvin and Eileen Booth. She grew up in Canton alongside her siblings, attended Worley School, and Timken Vocational High School where she graduated with a diploma and a certificate in dental hygiene assistance.
Alison was a loving sister and friend, always willing to lend a helping hand and a listening ear. Her warm personality, infectious smile, and generous heart made her an instant favorite among all who knew her. She had a love for all things purple, which she shared with her family and friends, but her greatest passion was her family, specifically, her nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews! She reveled in their exploits and achievements, and enjoyed sharing their lives (mostly in pictures) with her friends and loved ones! An avid Facebook user, Alison would frequently post the latest and greatest adventure of any one her “kiddoes”!
Despite facing many challenges in her life, Alison remained resilient and persevered through them all. She was a fighter till the end, and her unwavering faith in God was an inspiration to us all.
Alison was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin & Eileen (Condo) Booth and by her brother-in-law Larry Martin, the husband of her sister, Cindy. She is survived by her husband, David Hassler, siblings: Jim & Anne (Gould) Valentine of Peachtree Corners, GA, Cindy Martin of Ocala, FL, Craig & Daylene (Kisser) Booth of Baltimore, MD, and Amy Strickland of Fort Mill, SC., her nieces and nephews: Bobby (Laina) Valentine, Jeff Valentine, Jordan (Alex) Stanger, Meghan (Josh) Weber, Nick (Lauren) Booth, Devin (Tasha) Strickland, & Preston Strickland, her great nieces and nephews: Ryker Valentine, Lily, Mackenzie, Nico, & Erika Stanger, Karli, Laurel, & Lindyn Weber, Lilly & Emerson Booth, and a host of other relatives and friends, including her special life long friend, Dave Dierick.
Alison’s final gift before she left this earth was the gift of LIFE…a gift, as a registered organ donor, that she was able to pass on to multiple recipients of several of her organs, her corneas, and her tissue. Alison truly will live on in those lives that she so selflessly blessed!
We, her family, thank you for your kind words, your concern, and your love during this unexpected time of loss! Alison may be gone, but she most certainly will not be forgotten by ANY OF US…her family AND friends! We will celebrate her life in a memorial service at a date and time in 2024 to be determined. (Watch for the announcement!) We miss her dearly, but take comfort in the fact that she is reunited with Mom, Dad, & Larry, and is resting in the arms of Jesus, free from pain, heartache, and suffering.
