Alison's obituary
Alison Tippetts Hansen Moon, 69, passed away peacefully in Pleasant Grove, Utah surrounded by her loving family on July 22nd, 2025. Born on July 10th, 1956, in Provo, Utah, to Lavere May Tippetts and Geraldine Greenall. Alison lived a life defined by kindness, resilience, and unyielding compassion.
A devoted mother, sister, and friend, Alison’s journey in life was pronounced by her nurturing spirit and ability to make everyone feel like family, as many of her friends and colleagues knew her as “Mama Moon”. She grew her family through two marriages to Craig Hansen and Bruce Moon. But, becoming a mother & grandmother was one of Alison’s greatest joys, and cherished every moment with her children: Samantha, Marrissa, Shalise, Chris, Zach, Shayla, and Taylor, who will deeply miss her witty sense of humor, warmth, and bright light she bestowed upon everyone she met.
As a former sunbeam teacher and primary music leader in the LDS church, Alison seamlessly blended her roles as a nurturing parent and mentor of the LDS gospel to harbor an environment full of love and acceptance for the kids she taught. She was selfless and was always a strong foundation of love for her family and those she cared about. Having two daughters with Multiple Sclerosis, Alison participated in ‘Bike MS’, a 100 mile road cycling event several times, and helped raise thousands of dollars for MS research.
Alison grew up alongside her five siblings in Mapleton, Utah. She loved to share stories about her childhood and it never failed to bring a smile to her face. Passing along family traditions and expressing the significance of spending time together was important to her. Alison raised two of her granddaughters after losing her daughter, Marrissa, another testament to her strength and resilience. She had a passion for sewing, dancing, and singing along to her favorite tunes. She was truly the perfect exemplar for living in the moment and making the most out of life, which is a definite part of the legacy that she leaves behind.
She is survived by her children & siblings: Samantha Rasmussen (daughter) Bobby Rasmussen (son in-law), Shalise Rymer (daughter) Kenny Rymer (son in-law), Chris Hansen (son), Abish Hansen (daughter in-law), Zach Hansen (son) Chad Murdock (son in-law), Shayla Clegg (daughter), Shawn Clegg (son in-law), Taylor Moon (son), Gabe Mugerian (son in-law), Baylie Saxton (granddaughter), Ayke Saxton (grandson in-law), Paiten Davis (granddaughter), Linda Keddington (sister), Rob Keddington (brother in-law), Dave Tippetts (brother), Jenny Tippetts (sister in-law), DeAnn Kempinger (sister), Harry Tippetts (brother), Laura Tippetts (sister in-law), and Pam Tippetts (sister in-law).
