My condolences to Allie's family.   I first met Allie when she and Phil picked me up at the airport in their vintage Volvo station wagon.  (I bet Phil wishes he still had that car).  Allie was so kind, a life-long companion to Phil, and always full of stories and laughter.   She will be missed.  May her memory be a blessing.

Kathy Magel

We are so sorry to hear of Allie’s passing!  We know she will be missed and her memory always a blessing!  Sending our love to all!  Eric, Mary Nadler & family

I probably first met Alison in 1979, when we were both part of a Programming training program at CSAA.  We soon discovered that we were both alums of Lowell High School in SF, even though it was during different timeframes.  More recently, probably in the 90's, I was on a solo adventure in London, sitting on an underground train, when I noticed Ali and Phil walking on the platform, probably somewhere near Portobello Road.  We connected later and laughed about it.  It's funny how lives intersect sporadically.  Anyway, Alison was a great lady and role model.  Condolences to her family and to all of us who were fortunate to know her.

Loads of different ones!
Remembering joyfully my beloved Auntie Allie! I'm so glad you're peaceful now and I'm so grateful for all you were to us all. So much to say... For now, just to say how much I love you, and am glad we met over the years at least sometimes, with you over there and me over here (England), but such fun we had when we did meet! Listening to you talk (not difficult, haha!), hearing your passionate opinions on everything from people to politics, family to feminism, Native Americans to nachos, Jews to jewellery, travels to travellers. I loved visiting you when you were a Docent in the State Indian Museum in Sacramento, and among the many lovely pieces of jewellery you gave me is an incredible string of ceramic beads, all yellow and blue, in the shape of little bears (California colours, maybe?) Your ukelele gave you and my dear Unk so much pleasure in your later years. And how fiesty, even fiery at times, you could be! I remember once we were at a bus stop somewhere and you let rip at some man who dared to jump the queue (he turned tail and fled!) With you, fear never got a look in, Love did! You loved us all, with your enormous heart; especially the underdogs of society (and actual canines!) We love you. Hugs and love from your Niece, Eve xxx💚😘🌺

I celebrate 70 of Allie in my life.  Sister-in-law, mentor and friend.  How lucky I am!

With love from Marilyn

Alison and I shared  a love of stories and laughter over the years, in the pool for water aerobics. We had the same sense of the ridiculous, in ourselves and others, and got along famously. I have missed seeing her over the last few years but I'm sure I will still think of her for a long time to come.
