Alison Ann Blackledge died peacefully in her sleep on January 11, 2024 in Belle Chasse, LA at the age of 61. Alison is survived by her children, Ashley Smith of Denham Springs, LA, Grace Devine of Denham Springs, LA, David G. Smith of Chalmette, LA, and Barbara Hilton of Picayune, MS; her grandchildren, Johnny, Nathan, Raiden & Joseph Claibourn, and Destiney, Rosie & Charley Devine; her siblings, Michelle Vidal of Gretna, LA, and Christina Drewes of Belle Chasse, LA. She is preceded in death by her parents A.L. and Barbara Blackledge of Gretna, LA.

Alison was born on October 10, 1962 in Mary Esther, FL to A.L. and Barbara Blackledge. She graduated from L.W. Higgins High School in Merrero, LA in 1981. She married David Smith, a former offshore boat captain on November 13, 1988. Alison went on to work in financial aid and raising her family. Alison loved music, arts & crafts, cooking shows, and playing cards.

A celebration of life reception will be announced at a later date. All who knew and loved Alison are welcome to attend to celebrate and share stories of her life. The family would like to thank the staff of Riverbend Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their care and efforts.
