Michelle's obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alicia "Michelle" Rea, who passed away on March 6, 2024. Michelle was born on July 14, 1961 to Shirley and William "Gene" Rea. Michelle lived a rich and colorful life, filled with love, laughter and music. You could always find her with a Diet Dr. Pepper in her hand, and her heart would always beat a little faster when the sounds of country music and 80s hair bands filled the air.
Her life journey was not without its challenges. In 1977, she was in a car accident in rural Missouri, which killed her brother and left her disabled, which shaped her resilience and character in more ways than one could imagine. Michelle was a proud graduate of Crete High School, class of 1980. In 1984 her daughter Rebecca was born.
Michelle enjoyed looking at old pictures and reminiscing about her childhood on her grandparent's farm just outside of Powersville, MO. She had a very sharp memory and was able to recount the name of every person, horse, and place in every photo.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Rea; her parents Shirley and Gene Rea; and her sister, Marsha Clinkenbeard. Their memory lived on in Michelle's heart and she often spoke fondly of the love and wisdom they showered upon her.
Michelle's death is a tremendous loss that will be deeply felt by many, but none more so than her surviving relatives. She leaves behind her daughter, Rebecca "Becca" Rea and her husband Cory Bellamy or Lakeland, FL, her niece Miranda Rea and Miranda's daughter Madalynn Rea both of Unionville, MO. Their laughter and joy were the songs that lifted Michelle's spirits, and she will be remembered through them.
While our hearts are heavy with grief, we are comforted by the memories of her laughter, humor, strength, and the love she had for her family. Her spirit will continue to live on through the lives of those she touched.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
