Alicia's obituary
Alicia Lehua (Manlapit) Pierre, 74, of Walkersville, MD, passed away peacefully on March 2nd 2022 at Northampton Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Frederick, MD after a long battle with several medical conditions. Alicia moved to Maryland in March of 2020 to be closer to her children and their families. Alicia enjoyed spending time playing games, watching television, eating good food, and laughing with friends and family.
Alicia was born on October 6, 1947 to Pablo and Alyce Manlapit in Honolulu, HI. She grew up in Hawaii as the youngest of seven siblings and attended Waianae High School. Alicia spent the majority of her adult years in New Orleans, LA and moved to Austin,TX, after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, where she was surrounded by her loving church family at Cameron Road Church of Christ. After surviving Hurricane Katrina, her fifteen years in Austin were filled with friendship and fellowship with her church family who cared for her deeply. Alicia had a strong faith in God and leaned on him in her times of need, and rejoiced with him in her times of joy. The women of Cameron Road fondly remember Alicia’s zest for life and the love she brought to their church.
Alicia was predeceased by her parents Pablo and Alyce Manlapit, her siblings Lawrence Manlapit, Moki Manlapit and Patricia Gaspar. She is survived by her siblings Nani (Frances) Lara, Harvey Negranza, and Adele Velasco. Alicia will be missed greatly by her sons and their wives, Terrence (Margie) Pierre, Lionel (Heather) Pierre, and Shawn (Nicole) Pierre. Alicia was also a loving grandmother to 12 grandchildren, Kelsey Morris, Dane (Inayah) Pogue, Leah (Brent) Hockenberry, Cole (Rachel) Pogue, Chloe Pogue, Jed Wachter, Melissa Wachter, Taylor Pierre, Cienna Pierre, McKenzie Pierre, Logan Wachter and Avery Pierre. Alicia also leaves behind a long legacy of 13 great-grand children; Zane, Aria, Destiny, Zion, Noelle, Able, Zaine, Maya, Skyla, Malachi, Avien, Armoni, and Mateo who she will be watching over from her eternal resting place. Alicia will also be greatly missed by numerous nieces and nephews, the members of Cameron Road Church of Christ, the staff of Frederick Health Hospice, and her animal sidekicks Stella and Skip.
The family will be celebrating Alicia’s life in a private ceremony and have plans to return Alicia’s remain to her birthplace in Hawaii to rest with her parents and siblings.
