Alicia's obituary
Alicia Marie "Nanny" Pelletier, 81, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2025, in Colonial Heights, Virginia. Born on March 8, 1944, in Rumford, Maine. Alicia lived a life marked by resilience, compassion, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend.
Alicia spent many years working in various industries, including restaurants and factories. For the last two decades, she found a second home at Cracker Barrel in Chester, Virginia, where she worked as a server, hostess, and most recently retail sales. Her warm smile and thoughtful nature left a lasting impression on countless customers and coworkers alike.
She was known for her generous spirit and boundless energy. Whether crafting handmade gifts with care, browsing the aisles of Goodwill for hidden treasures, testing out new slot machines, or enjoying the sun and surf at the beach, Alicia embraced life with enthusiasm. She cherished every opportunity to gather with her family the most—these moments that brought her immense joy.
Alicia was the heart of her family. Her strength and determination were matched only by her kindness and compassion. She had an extraordinary ability to make others feel seen and valued. Her home was always open, her arms always welcoming.
She is lovingly remembered and incredibly missed by her daughter Ronette Landry and son-in-law Doug Landry; her son Shane Pelletier and daughter-in-law Robin Pelletier; her sisters Terri Palmer and Barbara Carter; and her sister-in-law Jane Orino. Alicia’s legacy continues through her grandchildren: Douglas Landry Jr., Desiree Adkins, Destinee Hatch, Daniel Landry, Jeremy Blue, Haley Pelletier, and Dakota Pelletier; as well as her great-grandchildren: Kolbi Landry, Gage Landry, Gavin Landry, Natalie Hatch, Cadence Hatch, Gracelynne Adkins, Della Adkins, Katara Landry, Ryder Blue, Tyson Blue, Greyson Blue, Zoey Blue, Madelynn Fleek and Soon-to-arrive Baby Landry.
She was preceded in death by her brothers William "Bill" Orino and Philip Orino, and parents Arthur Orino and Theresa Beaudet.
A celebration of Alicia’s life will be held June 22, 2025 from 5-8 pm at Prince George Ruritan Club, 5450 Ruffin Rd, Prince George, VA 23875.
