Alicia's obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the departure of our beloved Alicia Bingham who passed away on September 4, 2017. Born in the year of 1933, Alicia was a cherished member of her family and community, fondly remembered for her caring, kind, and thoughtful personality.
Alicia was predeceased by her loving husband, Reuben Bingham. She is survived by her children, Sabrina Carlson-Gould, Paul Bingham, and Cynthia Owen; her grandsons, Jacob Bingham, Nathanial Bingham, Nicholas Bingham, Justin Allen, and Alex Hamilton; her granddaughters, Jerico C, Rebekah M, Jacqueline Rose, Sarrah Brambila, and Jami Hamilton; and her nephew, Nestor Patalagsa.
Alicia shared a life full of memorable moments with her loved ones. In 1953, she met Reuben, marking a beautiful starting point of their journey. They moved to Imperial Beach, CA in 1962 and had a child in 1955. The joy of their family extended with the birth of a great-grandchild on December 10, 1998.
Spending time with family, crocheting, and watching ballet were some of Alicia's favorite pastimes. She cherished her Hawaiian vacations, St. Charles Church visits, and the quiet moments spent reading The Red Tent or watching her favorite TV show, Bones. Music was a constant companion to Alicia, with hymns offering a soundtrack to her life. Food, particularly Chicken Adobo, had special place in her heart.
Alicia was known as a hospitable woman and taught those around her the importance of kindness and hospitality. Her amazing feat of supporting her family through school in the Philliphines stands among her most notable accomplishments. Her legacy, 'Love your family,' speaks volumes about the values she upheld.
Alicia cared deeply for her community, serving as an integral part of the Citrus Avenue community for over 50 years. Her friends, neighbors, and loved ones will profoundly miss her.
May her soul rest in peace, and her legacy continue to inspire those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
