Alice Faye's obituary

With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Alice Faye Horn (Biggs), who left us on the 8th of August, 2025. Born on May 19, 1944, Alice led a remarkable life and left an indelible imprint on everyone she encountered. She was a woman of faith, warmth, and grace, embodying love and care at every stage of her life.

She is survived by her loving children, Shaun and Christina Horn, Jan Dean (Horn), Curtis Hanks, Jerry Hanks and William Hanks.  They will forever remember and cherish the memories of their wonderful mother. 

Alice was predeceased by her devoted husband, Robert W Horn in 2017 and her beloved grandsons, Randall Hanks and Dustin Steven Dean. Her grandchildren, Chrystylynn, William (Billy), Greg, Randall, Corey, Christie Jean, Brent, Teala, Jasmine, Nathan, Amber Rayn, Dustin, Brandon, Evan, and Shaun, as well as her 13 great-grandchildren will deeply miss their loving grandmother.

Alice retired from Advanced Nursing in 2023, after a fulfilling career serving others. Her favorite foods included Eggs Benedict with Lemon Hollandaise, and in her spare time, she enjoyed Chinese Checkers and Scrabble.  Her favorite musicals were Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and Oklahoma. Her favorite recreational activities were sewing and reading.  She was a lifelong Elvis Presley fan and derived joy from watching TV shows like Highway to Heaven and Little House on the Prairie.

Alice was an avid reader, The Bible was her favorite book. The teachings guided her throughout her life, reflecting in her loving, Christian, and caring personality. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and forgiveness, reminiscent of her strong faith and outlook towards life. She displayed tremendous fortitude and an inspiring work ethic, setting an honorable example for all to follow.

A memorial service to celebrate Alice's life will be held on the 16th of August, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the St Paul United Church of Christ in Columbia IL. Let us come together to remember her beautiful life, which she lived with love, faith, and joy.  Faye Horn will always be remembered for her love of wildflowers and all things bright and colorful. She knew God had a home for her in heaven and she was happy to go home again.  May her soul rest in peace.
