Alice's obituary

We regretfully announce the passing of Alice Choma of Toms River, NJ on May 27, 2022 after a long battle with ovarian cancer. Alice was surrounded by her family and passed away peacefully.

Our mother, Alice, was one of the kindest women to ever walk this earth and our family was blessed to have her. Alice was born on July 26th, 1956 to Douglas and Eleanor Hutton. She graduated from Toms River High School South in 1974. In 1977 she married John Choma and together they went on to have two children. Alice was a wonderful and loving mother who gave her all to her family. We will never be able to fill the space left behind by her.

Alice dedicated many years of her life working for the Ocean County Library system. She will be remembered by her co-workers and countless patrons who will always remember her warmth. Alice was predeceased by her parents, her husband John A. Choma, and her brother Douglas Hutton Jr. She is survived by her sisters: Barbara Heller and Joan Fenelon; her two children and their spouses: Steve and Adrienne Choma and Douglas and Laura Florek; and five grandchilden who were her world: Douglas, Allison, James, Amelia, and Nathan.

Please consider a donation in Alices’s name to STAAR Ovarian Cancer Foundation, as this organization is doing important work to facilitate research that may help others in their battles. A graveside service will be held the morning of June 11th at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
