Alice Andrews-Okon of Cleveland Heights, Ohio was a woman who made a difference. Her family announces with heavy hearts that she went into peaceful and eternal rest at the young age of 66 on December 22nd, 2021.

Born September 26, 1955 to Jewell and Robert L. Andrews, Jr in Atlanta, Georgia, Alice brought joy and laughter into her family as well as the world. Alice was a studious person and valued education. She graduated from Morrow High School (1973), Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Science in biology (1977), and Meharry College with her Doctorate in Dental Surgery (1983).

While studying at Meharry, she met her husband, Dominic Okon and the two were inseparable until her passing. In 1981, they were married and together created over 40 years of wonderful memories as well as raised two daughters, Monica and Sandra .

Alice showed she was a good human being in all elements of her life. As a wife, she was devoted to her husband and took pride in caring for him. As a mother, she was the “captain of this ship”. Alice was fiercely dedicated to her children and their education. As a sister, cousin and aunt, she loved, supported, and encouraged her family. As a friend, she treated her friends with unforgettable thoughtfulness and generosity. Either family or friend could expect an impromptu call from her saying she just wanted to say hello or to catch up. As a dentist, her patients greatly appreciated the loving care she rendered. If you were a child seeing her, you could expect her to give you a toy or treat at the end of your visit.

Alice’s legacy and life will be honored by those surviving her: her husband, Dominic, and daughters, Monica and Sandra as well as her siblings, Rosalind Webb, Sandra Andrews, Brenda Rawlings, Beverly Dodson, Robert Andrews (Barbara), S. Cornelius Andrews (Julia), Gregory Andrews (Leandra), and Dr. Valisia Ann Andrews-Nixon (Keith); Aunt Carolyn Andrews, nieces and nephews, cousins, in-laws, great nephews and nieces, other relatives, and friends
