Alfred's obituary

Visual Artist Alfred R Zipp recently lost his battle with lung cancer (as he had a great love for smoking, I guess that makes sense). He died in April of 2024 in Sebring, Florida, where he had been living since 2017.
10 year earlier, in 2007, Al had moved back to NJ, from Florida where he had been living, to care for our father (who had advanced macular degeneration) after my mother passed away.
During his time back in NJ, and after getting his first computer, he soon branched out from using oil paint, his usual medium, to creating artwork on a computer, using the various platforms that existed at the time. The photos show a sampling of his work from different eras.
While in college, Al renewed his passion for dance, but was never really allowed to pursue that avenue. Like most of us, and all artists, he was a complicated person. He held a variety of jobs in sales and delivery while he pursued his art, had various girlfriends, but never ended up creating his own family.
Although he took care of our father in NJ for those 10 years after my mother died, he always wanted to return to Sebring Florida where he died.
