Al's obituary

Alfred Wesley Hall, Jr., 82 of New York, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025 in Charlotte, North Carolina surrounded by his loving family after an extended but courageous fight.

Born in Harlem on May 17, 1943, Alfred (Al) was the second of three children born to the late jazz bassist Alfred Hall and Eve Keller, a nurse.

Al married the love of his life, Gail C. Nixon on August 7, 1965, and together they built a beautiful life centered on family. Al was the proud father of daughters Kim and Dana and a devoted grandfather to Jasmine Tucker and Trevi Holland, who were his greatest joys.

A true craftsman at heart, Al took pride in every task and believed in doing things the right way. He found joy in the simple pleasures - jazz music, cars, and sports among them. He built things with his hands and with his heart — homes, memories and love that lasts. Al’s laughter and "corny" stories brought warmth to every room he entered.

In May 1996, Al opened The Hall Group, his professional financial advisory firm. Al was dedicated to helping his clients achieve their financial goals and offered expert guidance and personalized strategies for wealth management.

Al will be remembered as a man of integrity and heart — a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was his family’s biggest fan and, in their hearts, their forever hero.

As per Al’s request, no formal services are planned at this time
